It's time for the first of several Senate districts we need to hit with flyers to get constituents to call their Senator and demand they STOP the seat belt law!

Brett Powell is coordinating the Nashua drop. He can definitely use volunteers, no matter where you're from. Please contact him ASAP at Brett_7676(at)hotmail.com

People will break up into teams of 2-4 per car, drive to strategically-chosen neighborhoods, and leave flyers at each house.

This is real, effective political activism. There's a reason the enemies of liberty do it! I can't guarantee it'll stop the law. I can guarantee this is the most effective thing that can be done to stop it.

By doing this flyering, you're putting the seat belt issue front and-center as a campaign issue, and putting out a clear signal that the libertarians are organized -- look out, old guard, the rules of the game are changing Smiley

Key points:
    * Never put anything in a U.S. mailbox. Our opposition would love to file Federal charges against us, and the NHLA's URL is on the flyers.
    * Newspaper tubes (Union Leader, Nashua Telegraph, etc) are fair game, and very desirable drop locations
    * Inside a screen door or outside door is a great place to leave a flyer
    * When in doubt, skip the place. Better to miss a few homes than to be perceived as litterbugs
    * No need to knock on doors; this isn't a candidate campaign, we're just leaving flyers
    * If anyone comes out, just offer them a flyer. If they refuse, no problem, just move on to the next house. If they want to debate, it's up to the person flyering -- just always be diplomatic
    * NO OPEN CARRY WHILE FLYERING. Keep issues separate. We wouldn't smoke pot at a school choice event, right? right!?!? Wink

This is just the first of 3 weekends that we'll be flyering Senate districts. We need people Saturday and Sunday at strategic locations throughout the state each weekend through end of April (when the Senate is expected to vote)

What time?

There’s an OC event the same day in Concord, at 13:00, so if these two events can be coördinated, that would get a lot more people.

I'm glad I read this  ... I didn't see anything about "no open carry" on the meetup site.  I'll have to bring my little gun.

The NHLA newsletter said we should go to this link if you want to help with flyering anywhere in the state.

I want to help with flyering in the Seacoast area and I know we have folks in the area.  Given the assurance that we will have flyers, we could start plan the flyering now.  I don't really know how to plan it and set up maps.  I do know how to email, call, and message people who live in the area and ask them to help, though.

We need people this weekend in Nashua and Salem. Drive to those locations, if you must!

Next weekend we'll probably need people in Barrington, Nottingham & Rochester and also around Sunapee. Those are subject to change, based on latest intel about Senate votes.

See the following post for details of this weekend's fun:

First, thanks to all involved in trying to prevent the seatbelt bill from becoming a law.
Is it possible to get a peek at what the flyers say?  I may not be able to attend a coordinated event but would consider printing off the flyer and distributing them during a time that I am available.  I realize the idea is to concentrate efforts in the most needed districts to swing votes so I wouldn't want my free lancing to harm that effort.  I had in mind distributing flyers in any area that has a high people flow. Maybe even handing them out in malls etc.   I thought in front of the DMV would be a good place too.

Of course, the most effective thing at this point is to target the actual Senators who will be making the swing votes. Anything else is frankly less than 1/10th as relevant to actually stopping the law.

If the Senate does pass it, we'll do a "hail-Mary" play to try and get the Governor to veto. I know that right now Lynch is NOT planning to veto the bill and it would need to be one hell of a shitstorm to make him change his mind. Hint: we probably can't generate that much of a shitstorm, even with every member working hard.

So... yes, feel free to freelance, just seriously consider freelancing in one of the areas that actually matters
